Our Courses

TMMI offers both controller and software GE Automation & Controls Proficy courses at all our office locations and on-site at your facility. For those with slim travel budgets, we also offer a few “cloud-hosted” Distance Learning (DL) classes that cover the same material. as the traditional classroom training.  In 2016 we began offering a new Proficy Controller Programming – Logic Developer PLC (477) course that combines both ME and PACSystems programming.

Controller Maintenance – Logic Developer PLC (338):

Duration: 3 Days Cost: $1,900

Instructors:  Kelli Settell, Mark Perry, Matt Smolskis

The GE Controller Maintenance – Logic Developer PLC course provides the student with the skills necessary to troubleshoot and repair faults in GE programmable logic controllers (90-30, 90-70, VersaMax, RX7i and RX3i). The class is taught using Logic Developer PLC software, which is part of the Machine Edition family of products. The focus is on interpreting existing ladder logic programs for troubleshooting purposes. Students are also taught how to use the troubleshooting tools within the software to determine where faults have occurred and how to correct them.

Controller Programming – Logic Developer PLC (447):

Learn programming for the PACSystems, 90/70, 90/30 and VersaMax controllers in this Machine Edition class featuring the PACSystems Rx3i Controller. This class covers programming techniques and the advanced features of the PACSystems Controller using Logic Developer PLC Machine Edition software.

iFIX HMI/SCADA Fundamentals (154):

Duration: 4 Days, Cost: $2,495

The Proficy HMI/SCADA iFIX Fundamentals course is designed to provide a good working knowledge of iFIX. Valuable hands-on lab exercises are provided to guide students through the building and modification of the HMI/SCADA application.

iFIX HMI/SCADA Advanced (254):

Duration: 4 Days, Cost: $2,495

The Proficy HMI/SCADA iFIX Advanced course is designed to pick up where the iFIX Fundamentals course ends. The course is intended to provide the student a base level of proficiency using some of the product’s more advanced features. The student will become familiar with some of the tools and concepts available for optimizing and troubleshooting iFIX.

Historian Fundamentals (345):

Duration: 2 Days (also available via DL)*, Cost: $1,500

The Proficy Historian Fundamentals course familiarizes the student with the software architecture, installation methods, configuration guidelines, administrative tools, and best practices for a successful Historian implementation. Emphasis is focused on the fundamental components of a Historian – Server, Collector, and Client and how they are best configured. Query sampling modes are explained with client applications including Excel, Historian Web Trends, and OLE-DB/SQL Linked Server.  Historian Web Administrator interface is also explored.

Using VBA with iFIX HMI/SCADA (354):

Duration: 4 Days, Cost: $2,495

The Using VBA with iFIX course is designed for those who wish to acquire a basic knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) within iFIX. This knowledge will allow the student to generate VBA based solutions for their special system requirements. The course begins with an introduction to VBA and why VBA is so important in today’s applications. Lectures, coding examples, and labs are included in this course on the important aspects of VBA, as well as reference to Visual Basic syntax. This course will demonstrate to the student how to enhance runtime operation to solve special problems.

CIMPLICITY HMI/SCADA Fundamentals (301):

Duration: 4 Days, Cost: $2,495

The Proficy CIMPLICITY HMI/SCADA Fundamentals course is an entry-level course focusing on the multiple aspects of project configuration. Valuable hands-on lab exercises are provided which guide students through the building and modification of the HMI application.

CIMPLICITY HMI/SCADA Advanced (302):

Duration: 3 Days, Cost: $1,900

Instructor:  Mark Perry

The Proficy CIMPLICITY HMI/SCADA Advanced course introduces students to configuration of clients and servers, OPC client and server, server redundancy, classes and objects, Web View, and Recipes. Students will also look at CIMPLICITY SQL, ODBC basics, CimEdit scripting, and advanced features in trending. Valuable hands-on lab exercises are provided which guide students through the building and modification of the HMI application.

Workflow Fundamentals (402):

Duration: 2 Days (also available via DL)*, Cost: $1,500

Instructor:  Brian Heble

The Proficy Workflow Fundamentals course focuses on configuration and development of Proficy Workflow applications. Participants will begin by designing and implementing work-flows, building custom forms with the Workflow Display Builder, and connect Workflow to a variety of data source applications including OPC, Historian, and HMI/SCADA.

SOA Fundamentals (401):

Duration: 2 Days (also available via DL)*, Cost: $1,500

Instructor:  Brian Heble

The Proficy SOA Fundamentals is a foundational course that introduces the components of Proficy SOA framework. Students will learn the Proficy SOA Client user interface, the S95/S88 equipment and personnel models, and configuration of the core SOA Service Providers. Proficy Vision, System Administration, reporting, and troubleshooting are also discussed.

ThinManager Deployment with Relevance Training:

Duration: 2 Days 

Cost: $2,400; PMP Subscribers- $2,000

Instructors:  Greg Hazel

The ThinManager Deployment with Relevance Training is a hands-on technical course, covering the details of creating, configuring, deploying and managing a ThinManager thin client system. This two day class schedule begins with the basic functions and adds features and details as the class progresses.
