Advantages
Diverse applications. One solution.
From the entry-level TiM1xx sensor to the premium TiM7xx solution: For practically any requirement, the TiM 2D LiDAR sensors enable a customized and, hence, economical solution. For example, as a small data provider for object detection and environment perception, for high flexibility in an industrial setting and building automation, or for mobility platforms like industrial trucks, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and service robots. There are various variations available for niche applications: The TiM-S is intended for use in safety-related mobile applications as well as personnel protection in industrial settings. Additionally, the TiM-P allows for the implementation of highly customized solutions as it is the first programmable 2D LiDAR sensor.
How the LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology in the TiM works
Using the most advanced optical time-of-flight measuring technique, known as time-of-flight (TOF) technology, the TiM 2D LiDAR sensors scan their surroundings. This entails directing laser pulses through a revolving mirror and observing the reflected light. The identified item is farther away the longer it takes for a laser pulse to return to the sensor. This, along with the incoming signal's intensity, enables millimeter-accurate location determination of objects in space. With up to 15 updates per second, the TiM provides real-time orientation, navigation, and control of its environment.
Large working range
TiM 2D LiDAR sensors offer various scanning ranges, angular resolutions, and aperture angles for monitoring various work areas up to 25 meters.
Wide range of applications
The TiM portfolio provides a range of sensors for various applications, including simple object detection and precise measurement data output.
Optimized costs
The comprehensive portfolio offers customized solutions tailored to each task and budget, resulting in high cost-effectiveness for all applications.
Dual protection with field evaluation and measurement data output
In addition to differences in performance range, the TiM 2D LiDAR sensors also differ in terms of integrated application. TiM2xx and TiM5xx provide measurement data output, whereas TiM1xx and TiM3xx solely carry out field evaluation. TiM7xx is incredibly adaptable since it combines both features into one unit.
Rugged housing meets high performance design
Shocks and vibrations have no effect on the TiM 2D LiDAR sensors. Moisture or dust cannot enter the housing. By employing protection plates or damped mountings, for example, the ruggedness of the sensors can be increased if they are going to be exposed to extremely high loads and harsh environments. Even in situations with intense ambient light and varying object surfaces, the little sensors continue to be dependable data providers. For the integrated measurement technique, up to 80,000 Lux present no issues. This guarantees very little fluctuations and a constantly high measurement quality, preventing errors and ensuring fault-free operations.
Flexible Integration
An extensive range of accessories is offered to guarantee that the TiM devices can fulfill their maximum potential in any given application. This makes it possible for the sensors to be configured for difficult applications in a way that guarantees the accuracy of the measurement data even in the presence of intense vibrations or in an environment that is always damp. Additionally, the accessory components further simplify the commissioning process and integration, which is already adaptable.
Well Protected
For safely attaching the TiM device, a large range of mounting accessories are available. These range from shock-absorbing mounting brackets to a weather-resistant enclosure that guards against rain, snow, and hail.
Smooth Integration
Numerous connecting devices, IO-Link clients (such the SIG200), and cable variations enable seamless system integration with no compatibility problems.
Very Flexible
Rotatable male connectors and integrated cables offer a great deal of flexibility during installation, allowing for application-specific mounting locations and alignment flexibility in complex installation scenarios with limited space.
